Loss of our beloved colleagues
July 17, 2014
On behalf of their families we have to share with you that we lost two of our beloved colleagues on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
On behalf of their families we have to share with you that we lost two of our beloved colleagues on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17: Martine de Schutter (Programme Manager Bridging the Gaps) and Pim de Kuijer (lobbyist).
With great sadness and deep devastation we took notice of this sad news. Pim and Martine were on their way to the International AIDS Conference in Melbourne. Our thoughts and compassion go out to their families and friends. We wish them strength in these difficult times. Our colleagues were inspiring and beautiful people, who we will forever embrace in our hearts.
We also lost three wonderful colleagues and allies. Joep Lange who was one of the most eminent international leaders in the Fight against Hiv together with his partner and colleague Jacqueline van Tongeren. Lucie van Mens has dedicated her professional life to sex workers, international aidswork and the promotion of female condoms.
We mourn their death which leaves a huge gap in the Fight against HIV.
