October 30, 2015

"Such a vibrant and energetic group of people!" says Miriam Groenhof of STOP AIDS NOW!, one of the organizers of the Regional Linking and Learning Expert Meeting “More Access, Better Quality” – SRHR education and HIV prevention programmes for adolescents and young people.

This expert meeting took place from 12 to 14 October 2015 in South Africa and was organized by STOP AIDS NOW!, Rutgers and SAT.
A hundred people from eighteen different countries with all kinds of backgrounds and expertise, but all working with and for young people, sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and HIV prevention, participated in the meeting.

"For three days we discussed and shared on what are most urgent issues, what do we need to stop doing and what should we start doing to ensure young people can make their own choices regarding sexuality and HIV prevention! The meeting was  a mix of plenary presentations on policies and trends on regional and international level and practical workshops", says Miriam. Through this event we had the opportunity to link policy and practice. And we all were able to meet so many interesting colleagues working with young people.

We have published an colorful e-magazine, wherein you will find a reflection of the workshops, plenaries and interaction during this exiting meeting. You can download the magazine to experience the energy felt at the meeting!

The programme and presentations of the meeting are also available for download.
