Vacancy: Part-time National Coordinator Towards an AIDS free generation Uganda - Pediatric HIV

For the implementation of the Towards an AIDS Free generation Uganda (TAFU) program, STOP AIDS NOW! together with the ICCO Cooperation are looking for a part time National Coordinator (0,5 FTE) in Kampala. The coordinator will be responsible to coordinate and manage the TAFU program in the five districts in Uganda and to align activities with the Ministry of Health and its (inter)national partners. The National Coordinator will be in charge of coordination, planning, monitoring and evaluating the operations of the implementing partners, to facilitate learning among partners and to be the link with STOP AIDS NOW! in the Netherlands.

The main tasks and responsibilities of the National Coordinator will be to:

  • Ensure proper coordination and management of the program
  • Planning, monitoring and evaluation of the TAFU implementing partners
  • Ensure strong learning among the TAFU implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders
  • Representing the TAFU program on national level towards the Ministry of Health and other relevant stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills needed

  • University degree in Public health or social sciences with (preferably) related experience in the program field
  • Basic knowledge of health and HIV related issues with regard to children and pregnant women
  • Strategic thinking and innovation
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Sound capacity building and program facilitation skills, preferably experience in programs with multiple implementing partners
  • Negotiation, networking and advocacy skills
  • Communication skills
  • Knowledge of the political, social and economic situation in Uganda
  • Knowledge of development issues in Uganda
  • Basic knowledge of financial aspects on financing organizations
  • Experience with narrative & financial report writing
  • Excellent language skills in English
